Jennifer is the Library Director at the Lexington Public Library. She moved from Northeast Nebraska in July 2021 to take a job in Lexington. Jennifer has been a librarian since 2002 and has worked both as a Youth Services Librarian and as a Library Director. Jennifer is passionate about reading, literacy, and being involved in her community. She and her husband, Don Henkenius, raised four sons and one daughter in their blended family. She has four granddaughters, one grandson, and another granddaughter on the way. Besides books, and reading, Jennifer loves animals and has four cats and a Standard Poodle named Charley that live with her in Lexington. Four other dogs, two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, and two Vizslas live in Clearwater, NE with her husband. She is an admitted book hoarder and crazy cat lady. Jennifer is a Chamber of Commerce Ambassador and joined the KLB Board because she loves connecting with people and the community through a worthy cause. She is determined to become GREENER in her workplace and at home. “We only have one planet, and we have to do our part to reduce, reuse and recycle. I am excited to be a part of a cleaner and greener Lexington.”

Education/Outreach Coordinator - Mirsa Sierra
I have been a resident of Lexignton since 2006. I have grown to enjoy and care for this community. I have a son named Israel who is 8 years old, he loves and enjoys doing activities that are offered within Lexington. I'm currently a Tax Preparer Associate with H&R Block and have been with them for 4+ years. I have always enjoyed helping people, friends and children in whatever I can or is within my reach. As an Education/Outreach Coordinator now I hope to expand and make a difference. I plan to come up with activities, ideas and more to help our children and families be more part of our environment.
